These expeditions look absolutely amazing, and 2 of them (Girls on Ice: Cascades, Girls in Icy Fjords) are suitable for any girls across the world to apply (as long as you will be 16 or 17 on June 1 2017). They involve trekking around remote glaciers and/or volcanoes in Alaska, with support from field scientists and local guides.

 

I would love to encourage any interested Year 12 girls to apply – the trips are free with the exception of the travel costs, which you would be encouraged to fundraise for. I would happily help you with the application process if you think you would be interested – they take 8 or 9 girls from across the world per expedition so it is very competitive.

 

You would need to let me know by Friday Jan 13^th if you are interested so that we could complete your application form and references with enough time. The final application deadline is Jan 31^st (9am Alaska Time – 6pm GMT).
